My Top 10 Favorite Fiction Books!

My Top 10 Favorite Fiction Books!

Hey, what's up, guys? A couple of notes before we get started today. Number one, thank you so much for 100,000 subscribers. We hit that milestone on Tuesday of this week, and it's just absolutely insane. I can't really think of words to say right now.

However, there will be a proper 100,000 subscriber bonus video coming. This is not it. The other thing I want to say is that I'm veering a little bit off course from my original planned schedule, because in last week's video on public speaking I said the next video will be on presentations. Because I'll be flying out to Vermont next Wednesday to give a presentation of my own, I haven't had enough time to really put the quality and preparation into that video that I want and that I think you guys deserve. So I'm going to put that one off a little bit.

I'm going to get through that presentation. Today I still wanted to release something, so I thought it would be fun to go through 10 of my favorite fiction books. This is ostensibly a top 10 list. I know the top three at least are my top three, and the rest of them are sort of maybe in dubious order. But these are things that I really enjoyed reading and I hope maybe you can find something that you'll enjoy as well on this list.

Now, a couple of ground rules before we get started.

Number one, I have not included graphic novels, because I could probably fill an entire list with graphic novels on another day. And number two, no two books from the same series. I'm not saying the same author is off limits, but the same series is. Now, that being said, let's get started with number 10, which is Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson.

Just to let you know, I am very agnostic when it comes to the format of books I read. I like Kindle books. I like physical books. And I like audio books. So if I don't own the physical edition, I'm just going to pop a picture up right here like this.

Snow Crash is on the list because I absolutely love Stephenson's writing and I love cyberpunk fiction. This is the book that actually coined the term "avatar" in cyberspace terms. I really enjoyed it. There's one other Stephenson book that I've read so far that I like more, which is coming up in the list, but I highly recommend this book if you like cyberpunk fiction at all. Number nine on my list is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

Now this is a book that didn't really change my life or teach me any big lessons or anything, but I just absolutely enjoyed listening to it. It's a book about basically virtual reality, a kid who goes into a huge virtual reality world, and there's all these '80s video game and movie and music references. Even though I wasn't born in the '80s, a lot of it was stuff I watched growing up as a kid. It was just super cool to basically nerd out while listening to this book. I did listen to it.

I will recommend the audiobook version of this book. While I usually like to create the character voices in my head and narrate my own way, I really liked Will Wheaton's narration of this book. Will Wheaton's amazing in general, and his narration of this book is great. Definitely check it out. Read it either way, but I love the audiobook version.

Book number eight is The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut. You're probably getting a little bit of a sci fi vibe here, and yes, the majority of my favorite fiction is sci fi and fantasy.

But I absolutely loved this book. It has a lot of themes about free will and actually made me think a lot. My friend Martin, who was actually my roommate, recommended this book to me, and I believe it is his favorite book.

Didn't really top the favorite list for me, but I did enjoy it a lot, so it makes this list. Book number seven is Ender's Shadow, yes Shadow, not Game. I absolutely love Ender's Game. It's also one of my favorite books. However, I thought Shadow was a little bit more compelling because it tells the story from Bean's perspective instead of Ender's.

There's a little bit more grittiness to it. There's a little bit more of the tactical, nitty gritty details of how they win the battles, and I really liked seeing his perspective, and also that secondary perspective opened up a lot of new perspective on Ender's thoughts. So definitely check it out if you haven't read it.

But I would recommend reading Ender's Game first. Book number six is the Desert Spear by Peter Brett.

Now this book is part of a series called The Demon Cycle, and there are currently four books out right now. I've read all four and I'm eagerly awaiting the fifth one, which I believe should be the conclusion of the series. Basically it's a story about these demons who come up at night, and they're basically invincible and unkillable to all the humans, until ...

Well, you'll just have to read what happens. But it's pretty darn cool. This is the one book on my list that I like better than the original start of the series.

I absolutely love the first one, which is called The Warded Man, or The Painted Man, depending on where you live. But The Desert Spear has a much more interesting setting, in my opinion, and some cooler relationships that are built along its storyline.

Definitely recommend the entire series, but the second one is my favorite so far. Book number five I actually own in print, and it is Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. Now, I'm going to go on a limb here and say that the entire Mistborn series, at least the first three books, are my favorite in the number five category.

I just arbitrarily picked the first one, because I think I love all three equally. But the reason I like Mistborn so much is, number one, it's just a great fantasy series.

But number two, the magic system is so well thought out, and it's actually got limitations and hard rules. I think that makes for more interesting character interactions and situations than more arbitrary just whiz bang magic systems like more Tolkien-esque fiction will have.

That's why I love them. I also note that there is a new series of Mistborn books called The Wax and Wayne Trilogy, which there are two of those out currently, and those ones are usually shorter. I think they're like half - each one's is like half the length of a normal Mistborn book.

My Top 10 Favorite Fiction Books!

But they're also really great fun to read. So I'd recommend basically everything in the Mistborn series and pretty much everything Brandon Sanderson has wrote is great. Book number four is The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson, and yes, this is the second recommendation from Neal Stephenson on this list. Over on my bookshelf right there I have pretty much every other book Neal Stephenson has written since then, except for Seven Eves, which is his newest one.

I have yet to get through those ones because, well, reading can be tough when you run a business.

But I did get through both Snow Crash and Diamond Age. I think I liked The Diamond Age a little bit more, probably because of the character interactions, but also because his mixture of the cyperpunk, ridibulous future nanotech setting, mixed with a resurgence of Victorian fashion and ideals, was just awesome. Everything Neal Stephenson dreams up in that head of his is just super cool to read about. Now, this was another one that I did in audiobook format. I'm not sure if the audiobook version was as compelling as the Will Wheaton narration of Ready Player One, but I really did like it.

So if you're into audiobooks, I would recommend the audiobook version of this. Though if you're not, reading it would be cool, too. Book number three on this list? Well, if you've been drawing conclusions about my taste based on the other books on this list, you've probably been wondering if this one's going to come up, and yes, it is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I absolutely love this book.

This was recommended to me on a whim from my friend Carly. I read nothing about it going in. Honestly, I think that's the best book-reading experience you can have. I like just taking things on blind recommendation if they are good. I got lucky with this one because it is absolutely amazing.

Like Mistborn, it has incredibly well thought out magic system with physical properties and limitations. But also, I just like the characterization a little bit more than the characters in Mistborn, and that's why this book gets a little bit higher spot on the list from me. All right, moving on to the penultimate pick on this list, and this might be where any dislikes for this video comes from, because my pick for number two is Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, which is a fan fiction, yes. Now, this fan fiction story was written by an artificial intelligence researcher named Eliezer Yudkowsky, who's also written a lot on rationality and critical thinking.

This book is basically his attempt at teaching rationality and critical thinking without you really realizing it.

This book basically imagines a universe where Harry Potter, instead of just being a normal 11-year-old boy, is essentially a genius who thinks through everything rationally and like a scientist. What I love about this book is all the other characters are adjusted to match Harry. So it's not like he's just going through and having an easy time of everything. All the other characters are much smarter. If you like things like Sherlock or Death Note, or more rational, cerebral pieces of fiction, then I think you'll really enjoy this.

I'm not going to say you're going to enjoy it more than cannon. I personally do, but I don't want to say that it's better than cannon, because obviously it builds upon already excellent foundation of story and setting and characters that J.K. Rowling has built. I absolutely love the cannon.

But for me, I think I enjoyed MOR a little bit more. Also, it got me into reading about rationality and reading about critical thinking skills, and heuristics, and biases, and things that have made me a better thinker.

This is one of those rare pieces of fiction that has made a tangible change in my life, and that's why it gets such a high place on this list. But it's not in the top pick, because that one is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, of course. Now, if you've read the About section on my YouTube channel or any of the pages on my website, you've probably noticed the references to this book, and it's no secret that this is my absolute favorite piece of fiction, which is why I have the faux leather cover bound edition of all five of the books.

I absolutely love these books so much. They are ridiculously imaginative. I just love the dry British humor that Douglas Adams puts into them. Just read these books no matter who you are. They are fantastic.

They're weird. If you watched the movie and didn't like it, well, I absolutely loved the movie, so we're kind of on opposite sides with that thing. But I will say that the book version is just so much better. I grew up listening to the audiobook version of this book every night for years. There are actually multiple versions.

There's a version that is read by an entire cast, where every character has their own voice actor. That one's pretty cool. Steven Fry has his own narration version, which I believe is the most popular.

That one's awesome. But the one I recommend, if you can find it, is the one that is read by Douglas Adams himself.

His narration is just amazing. It's just awesome. I will try to find that and link to it in the description below. But if I can't, well, it is up to you to Google it, I suppose. So those are my top 10 favorite fiction books, at least at this point in my life.

I'm curious to know what you think of the books on this list. Do you like some of them? Do you dislike some of them? I also want to know, based on what I've told you about my favorite fiction books, what should I read next? All right, guys, that's it for this week's video.

Thanks so much for watching, and I will see you, as always, next week.

Best Way To Generate More Leads Online & Lead Magnet Ideas for Network Marketing

Best Way To Generate More Leads Online & Lead Magnet Ideas for Network Marketing

Hey guys, it's Trey Bearor from TreyBearor.com Have you ever wondered if there was a faster way to get more leads in network marketing without having to add 5 friends per day on Facebook or follow/unfollow random people on Instagram? In this video, I want to show you how to get network marketing leads online, by using these lead magnet ideas and examples. And don't worry, if you thinking, "what is a lead magnet?" I have you covered.

Let's get started. Alright, my friend. If it's your first time meeting me, My name is Trey Bearor and I help Network Marketers grow and scale their business faster using social media and automated systems like I'm going to show you in this video.

Before I do, I want to invite you to a live webinar which goes more in depth on how to generate leads and recruit rockstars in your Network Marketing business without having to hound family and friends or send prospecting messages to random people online like a weirdo. Just go to the description section below to get registered for that live webclass.

Also, I highly suggest you subscribe to my channel and hit the bell notification as I put out a new video each week to help you dominate in your business. Okay, so what's a lead magnet and how can I generate leads online for network marketing using a lead magnet? A lead magnet is an irresistible bribe, where you offer a specific chunk of value to a prospect in exchange for their contact information.

This is usually the "first step" that gives them tremendous value upfront and starts your relationship off with you and your prospect where they begin to know, like, and trust you right from the get go. Which is a great way to begin your relationship with someone you don't know.. especially if you'd rather not hound your family and friends. So the next question is..."what lead magnet examples can I create for my Network Marketing business?" Before you can ask "the what," you need to ask "who is it for?" Who do you want to pull towards you? Moms? What kind of moms?

New Moms, Boss Moms, High Anxiety Moms? Once you know your WHO, then you can offer the WHAT.

What do they struggle with and how can you help them get a quick win? For example...one of my lead magnets is "12 Ridiculously Effective Social Media Posts To Get Prospects Reaching Out And Begging You For Information!" This is a simple swipe file that I give away for free to help Network Marketers use social media the right way and get people reaching out for information. I'll link that in the description section in case you want that as well. So what makes a good lead magnet idea to make it absolutely irresistible?

Number One...Solves a real problem – if your lead magnet doesn’t solve a real problem that your target market has, or if it doesn’t give them something they really want, it won’t work at all. Number Two...Promises one quick win – your lead magnet should promise (and deliver) one quick win for your target market.

In other words, it should help them to easily achieve something. Number Three.

Best Way To Generate More Leads Online & Lead Magnet Ideas for Network Marketing

..Quick to digest and implement – PDF checklists, swipe files, Cheat Sheets tend to convert really well because they are so quick and easy to digest. eBooks or lengthy reports may make your prospects feel overwhelmed. Number Four...High value – your lead magnet should have both high perceived value and high actual value. Number Five...Instantly accessible – your lead magnet will work best if it is something that can be delivered right away. People love instant gratification. So let me ask you - you've learned some pretty cool things about how to make money in network Marketing.

Like how to make money selling products without being salesy and annoying.

Or how to build a 6-7 figure brand from scratch without prior experience or network. Think about the type of people who would want that information. Duh...people who are 100% interested in making money. Or maybe you fell in love with your products. If you're in the health and fitness space, Maybe you learned how to drop 10 lbs fast before spring break or how to save time with 27 different healthy crock pot recipes because you're a busy parent. If you're in the makeup and beauty industry, perhaps you learned contouring, daytime & nighttime looks, colors for your eyes, or how to pick the right foundation for your skin type. Again, think about the type of people who'd want this information from you.

When you do this correctly, you've nailed your target market. Which is way more powerful and time-saving than having to message random people online. Now if you're like me...when I started to generate mlm leads using a lead magnet, I didn't have a massive following or huge success in Network Marketing.

I had to figure out how to get more people to discover my lead magnet and funnels too. So what's the point of having an incredible lead magnet if no one can find it? That's what I want to show you inside my live webclass coming up. If you'd like to learn how to recruit rockstars in your downline using modern marketing strategies like this.

Click the link in the description section below and register to attend that live webclass. I promise, I won't be teaching you things like "make a list and use scripts to message people you know or don't know." In fact, you'll get my 6 Step Process that I use to have people applying to join my downline daily. Just click the link below, register for the next class, and you can apply these strategies in your business as well. And don't forget... I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments section below. What strategies are you using to get more leads in your network marketing business? Is there a good lead magnet example that you're using to recruit like crazy in MLM?

And as always, make sure you subscribe and hit that bell to be notified each week that I put out a new video.

I'll see you in the next video. Peace out!.

How To Get Free Leads For Network Marketing

How To Get Free Leads For Network Marketing

Today let's talk about how to get free leads for network marketing. When I was actively building a network marketing team, I was generating over 3  thousand leads a month for free. Let me share with you what I was doing. First I want to share with you what lead generation has to do with these tongs that I've drawn over there. Next I want to share why you're absolutely correct to want  to generate free leads because that's actually not how most people think but it's the right way  to think and then I'm going to share with you the number one method working right now as a full-time  marketer for the last 16 years, I've seen a lot of different methods.

There's a really hot method  right now that I want to share with you.

Okay, so don't judge me too harshly here but this is my  lame drawings of tongs. Now one looks you know...

that one looks fairly nice and maybe this is  more you know granny panties or something I don't know. Now another term you may hear around this  is the word funnel but I don't want you to think about like a funnel software. You  know I'm good friends with Russell Brunson, the founder of ClickFunnels, that's not what  I'm talking about right now. I'm talking about the logical thinking of attracting people to  you and leading them through a sales process. Now why do I prefer this over this?

Okay, well  I'm gonna share why.

All right so this, if you go on social media and you're really focused on talking about the thing you have for sale, whatever that is, shampoo, CBD, ketones, phone service, whatever it is that you're talking about, you know might you generate leads and sales? Yeah and in fact sometimes a method works so well for sales that we can kind of get lazy and we can start to  rely on that. I know when Facebook was very early on, people could post their sales links on Facebook  and it would actually work. It was crazy, it was a wild but that went away that stopped working a  long time ago.

The people that were stuck in that way of thinking got very frustrated and they're  like it no longer works. Well, that was just lazy marketing. So when you post a thing for sale, you're  gonna have a smaller lead flow. When you're posting something for sale, you're gonna have a smaller to  no lead flow.

Where I want you to focus and where I'm going to suggest because it's what  I focused on and what has helped us generate tens of millions of dollars online is making the lead  flow as large as possible.

How do you do that? Well you do that by not offering that thing for sale, you do that by offering education. You do that by offering things in a way that will help the person  solve their problem. So if you're wanting to you know sell a weight loss powder,, maybe you have a  powder they throw in a drink and you know down and you lose weight, well if you're wanting to do that, this method would be you posting the thing for sale. Might you get sales?

You might. Might  get a few but this... how would it work over here?

Well what do people that want to lose weight  need? Maybe they need a meal plan, maybe they need a workout schedule, maybe they need a  daily routine, maybe they need alternatives like don't eat this, eat that, right? They need help  around their choices they are making around exercise, around eating, perhaps around having  a healthy self-image.

So if I'm wanting to sell the hell out of this thing, whatever that i, I'm going to ask myself what do people that might buy this need to know education-wise and I'm  going to go over here and start creating you know a free meal plan or how to prep your meals or  what are simple exercises to burn off love handles. I'm gonna share education in a way to attract the  type of person to me that should be interested in this.

And so if over here you know maybe I generate  a sale or two but over here and we've proven this, when I was growing a network marketing business,  I was generating over 3,000 leads a month. that doesn't mean I was generating 3,000  buyer leads a month, I was generating 3,000 people that said I'm interested in learning more or I'm  interested in that thing that you're offering for free and then I would connect with them and  I would make a whole lot more sales than if I just posted the link itself.

Now does that make sense? Do you follow me here? Like you know there are things that you didn't know you needed  until you were educated, right, and now that you're educated on it through a process like this, you're  like man, I gotta get that thing.

How To Get Free Leads For Network Marketing

Well that's the concept. You know this is similar to one example  that I just absolutely love is you look at Home Depot or Lowe's. So, they'll have a how to lay  tile class. So, maybe you don't even know that you want new tile or maybe you don't even know that  you want to change your flooring but you see this free workshop, how to lay tile, and you go there and  you're like huh, this isn't that hard and you start generating ideas. You're like man, I could probably  tile the kitchen like this and guess what?

You can purchase the tile right there, you can get the  grout, you can get the spackle you can get whatever else you need. I don't know how to tile but  you can get all those different tools and all the different ingredients and things  at Home Depot.

Shocker, right? Amazing. One another example that I really like is *inaudible*, right?

You ever been there, certainly dude. They have cooking classes and so my wife and I we've  been there a million times and they'll you know you'll have a cooking class and you'll make a meal  together and it's awesome and guess what you're using to make the meal? You're using utensils that  they sell of course, right, and by the way you actually pay for  those cooking classes so that's not free but, we've been in there several times  not needing any new cookware but every time walking out with new cookware. Every time. And  so they led us in there through a big funnel.

Now had they posted pots and pans for sale.  I never would have bought but because they led with value, with education, they taught us how  to cook a quiche, they taught us... we've learned a bunch of different things, crab benedict that was  delicious, that was awesome, right?

So they led with education, they happened to charge for it which is  kind of cool, right, and that led us to buy pots and pans that led us to buy spatulas, it led us to  buy knives.

I got some a nice set of knives after taking a meat class there, right? And so you need  to think more like this, less like this if you're wanting to generate more free leads. I got two more  tips for you and before I get to them, make sure you subscribe. We drop consistent content on this  channel to help you, the network marketer, learn the strategies that really will help you and your  business go to that next level.

So why did I say that you're absolutely correct wanting free leads  versus what most people focus on? Well real simple. What do most people focus on? They focus on sales so they're posting things in a way to just get sales.

You focus on leads and you really run with  that, of how can I get more people following me, attracted to me, engage with me, watching my videos, you're going to be able to sell a whole lot more than this person over there so always keep hunting  for ways of generating free leads and we love teaching you that.

Okay, so what is this number one  method that is working right now to generate free leads? It is the short video phenomenon and what do  I mean by short? I mean less than 30 seconds and so we have seen so much success in our students  with TikTok, with Instagram reels and doing these shorter videos that still takes this concept  into perspective of how to get more people you know either educated or entertained.

For example  I do a lot of skits. Now, these aren't just you know skits that have nothing to do with my business, there's actually a lesson in every skit that I do.

You know make sure you check them out  if you want a little bit of a laugh because I do funny costumes, I do some goofy stuff but they  always have a lesson. You can have fun with this and this is something that the number one method  we see working right now are these short videos. People crushing it on TikTok, people crushing  it on Instagram reels and this is a concept that can seem overwhelming at first but I want to share  with you a way to help you with that. We actually have a free training that you can register for by  clicking the link in the description and it will walk you through what to post on these short video  platforms, how to come up with ideas and exactly how they work so that you generate more leads  and of course more sales.

So, the link is in the description if you'd like to get a really thorough  detailed training around that, feel free to get registered for it and I know you're gonna love it.

How to Generate Leads When You Have Little to No Traffic

How to Generate Leads When You Have Little to No Traffic

- When you have a website that generates dozens and thousands of visitors a month, it's easy to generate leads. What happens if you have little to no traffic to your website? How do you generate leads? Hi everyone, I'm Neil Patel and today I want to teach you how to generate leads when you have little to no traffic Before we get started, make sure you subscribe to this channel.

And if you're on YouTube, click the alert notification. When you have a website that's just starting off, it can be tough to figure out how to get traffic flowing to your site. Most of the time, just creating a site won't get you traffic. You need to make sure that every page of your site has clear search intent and is optimized for SEO.

However, even optimizing for SEO won't always get you the traffic you want.

So here's some strategies on how to gain more leads with little traffic. First, create lead magnets and promote them. I know that you're starting off in a business, you may not have a ton of money to use for promotion. However, it is important to create some brand awareness through promotion. It'll pay off in the long run if you're doing this strategically.

By investing in a lead magnet, by building solid content and awareness while also creating an email list, this will allow you to begin another successful form of marketing, which is email marketing.

And what ends up happening is by getting people on your email list, you can continually remarket to them, build that trust and generate sales. According to HubSpot, 99% of consumers check their email every day. And over 59% of marketers say email is their biggest source of ROI. So there's a few types of lead magnets that you can create.

A eBook, quizzes or polls, infographic, webinars, demos, contests, free trials, special offers, literally the list is never-ending. If you think it provides value to a user, then great, you're doing well.

Now you can promote these lead magnets in a few ways. You can use Google AdWords to promote them, Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads. You can also just share them on your social profiles, and that'll also get you some love, and get you some leads if you don't have any money to spend.

Next, I want you to link your lead magnets and your content. Creating content in your site is a must in today's digital marketing landscape. However, your goal of your content isn't just to get people to read your site. It's also to collect leads and generate sales. So why not link to your lead magnet within your content at the top, within your article, and at the end of your article?

Have call to actions in your blog posts.

Most people don't do this and this is a free way to gain leads as long as your content is very valuable and your following basic SEO guidelines. See the key is, that lead magnet needs to be related to that piece of content that you just wrote. If it's not, it won't do well. Remember, 96% of website visitors aren't ready to buy, but they may be willing to provide you their contact information after having read some of your content.

Next, I want you to use strong verbs and write powerful headlines to attract attention.

How to Generate Leads When You Have Little to No Traffic

If you want to create a lasting impression in your writing, you have to draw attention with verbs. Your headline should evoke curiosity, and persuade people to click. For example, the seven benefits of green tea, number six will shock you. Whoa, what's number six?

You got to check out the article to know more. If you can craft a great headline, you'll not only generate targeted leads, but there's a possibility that your search rankings will improve tremendously as well. Because remember, eight out of ten people read a headline, but only two out of ten will click through and read the rest. So if your headline's appealing and more people click it, it sends user signals to Google that you should be ranking higher, especially if more people are clicking on your listing versus the listing that's ranking above you.

CityCliq tested four different versions of their webpage using different headlines, and they found that the one with the verb outperformed and generated a 90% increase in conversion rates.

That's the power of verbs. Even ClickFlow which is a tool that helps you A/B test headlines found that having verbs in your headlines also generates more clicks. So you may be wondering how to find great titles. Well a easy way to do this is type in whatever keyword or industry that you're going after within Ubersuggest. When you do this, within the content ideas report, you'll see a list of all the headlines that other people are releasing out there.

It ranks them based off of social shares, backlinks, and search traffic.

Typically if a headline has all three of those things, it means that people like it. Not just Google but also people because people are linking to it from their site, which is backlinks. That's referral traffic. Social shares means that people are taking their time and sharing that article on the social web.

And of course, estimated visits or share traffic means that Google loves it as well.

Now the last tip I have for you if you're looking to generate more leads and you barely have any traffic, I want you to do one really simple thing. Go to Ubersuggest and type in your URL. Go to the site audit report. This breaks down all the SEO errors you have on your website as well your page speed load time.

Fix the page speed load time issues, this is pulled directly from Google.

And then as for the SEO errors, Ubersuggest breaks them down on the ones that have the biggest impact and they're the easiest to perform.
