The Perfect SEO Setup for Wordpress: 8 Plugins to Skyrocket Your Rankings and Traffic

- WordPress made it easy for anyone to create a website. It's easy to use, it's fast, it doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge. Heck, even someone like me who's not a developer can do things like SEO and modify WordPress with a breeze. Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel and today I'm gonna cover the perfect SEO setup for WordPress, eight plugins to skyrocket your ratings and traffic.

Some of the most important factors that Google looks into in order to rank your site are some of the following, user experience, on-page SEO, site speed, mobile-friendliness, internal link structure, structured markups, all these things impact your ranking, and there's hundreds of other factors.

There's over 200 factors that Google includes in their algorithm, and today I'm gonna share with you plugins that'll help you do all of these things, plus more, in a really easy and controlled way.

Plugin number one, W3 Total Cache. Look, load time is super important, especially because people are using mobile devices now. Yes, there's 4G, there's 5G, you know, LTE, whatever you wind up calling it, but the problem with mobile devices is if you're in a place that doesn't have the best reception I don't care if you have a 5G phone, you're not gonna load websites really fast.

The W3 Total Cache plugin, it ensures that your site will load as fast as you possibly can.

It'll improve load times, it'll help you connect with CDNs, it makes better use of your server resources so that way your server doesn't have to continue to push the same content over and over again. Instead it caches it so it can deliver it to the user as quick as possible, and if you have a really good hosting provider they have caching built in, but most of the hosting providers that I've seen don't have caching built in, hence I'm wrecking, recommending the W3 Total Cache plugin. Another plugin that you need to check out is the Smush Image Compression plugin. If you're creating blog content, and hey, you're on a WordPress blog, or WordPress as a CMS, there's a good chance you at least have a blog article or two, and in that blog article what do you think you're including? Images, if you're not you should change that and go add images right away.

The Smush Image Compression plugin, what this does is ensures that your images still look really good and quality, so that way when someone looks at them they don't look all pixelated and fuzzy, they still look really sharp, but this decreases the size of the image in which I'm talking about the server size, right, that hard drive space that it's taking up, so when people ping your site it loads much faster. The third plugin that you have to use is a Yoast SEO plugin. It does everything from on-page optimization, controlling your meta tags, your title tags. It even analyzes your content, telling you if you're doing a good job or a bad job. It creates sitemaps for you, helps with structure and markup.

It does pretty much what most things that you need if you want to ensure that your WordPress blog is SEO-friendly. Now look, WordPress out of the box is pretty SEO-friendly, but this plugin puts those last, final touches that are really important.

Most people think like, "Oh yeah. "If I do most of the things, that's fine." No, that used to work five, six years ago, but SEO has changed.

Now Google wants you to do every little thing right, and when you combine them all that's when you see the climb in ranking, the extra search traffic, and this plugin will really help you get there. The fourth plugin is Sucuri. If your website gets hacked, you rankings and traffic will tank, and when it tanks and you fix it it's hard to recover. Sucuri helps you, helps prevent you from getting hacked. Now, it's not gonna be perfect, but it's better than nothing.

The last thing you want to do is get your site hacked and lose all your traffic. I've seen this time and time again, someone gets hacked and they figure it out after a week or two, their rankings tank, they fixed it, and they don't recover in 30 days.

 

Eventually they recover, sometimes it takes two months, sometimes three months, if they're lucky it happens quickly. And they're like, "Hey, my business is in the shitter. "I'm losing a lot of money all "because of this one silly thing." Make sure you don't get hacked. The fifth plugin, AMP for WordPress. This helps with mobile users. Look, if you want to rank really high you want to get in on Google News, you want to make sure that your site has the AMP framework.

In other words, your tech space articles loads really fast, Google just posts it on their end, they're leveraging their own framework, and I found that yeah, in the United States by leveraging the AMP framework I didn't really get much more mobile traffic, but other countries where mobile devices and infrastructure isn't as good, such as Brazil, I saw a huge increase in mobile traffic by just leveraging this plugin.

The sixth plugin for you is a3 Lazy Load. When you use images on your site, even when you compress them, it still takes time for that webpage to load.

You want to make it where those images load as people scroll, that way you're not just loading up all these images on a page and it takes forever for that webpage to load when people haven't even started reading the content and scrolling. That's why I like Lazy Load. If you're on the neilpatel.com site you'll notice that as you read my blog posts images load as you scroll.

This creates a better experience for you as a user, and search engines prefer this as well. The seventh plugin, All In One Schema Rich Snippets. If you want to improve your search visibility by sharing rich snippets between the page title, you gotta use this plugin. It's great, it's simple to use, it is one of the best things that I've done out there.

Now, with schema markup what you'll find is some people are like, "Yeah, we're gonna use "all this schema markup and use all these tags "even though our site isn't relevant "to the specific schema markups." You don't want to do that.

For example, I wouldn't be using stuff on neilpatel.com, a schema markup that's relevant for restaurants when I have nothing related to restaurants on my site. That'll irritate Google and it'll hurt you in the long run, so when you're using this be nice and kind.

Don't try to abuse schema markup. The eighth plugin, Really Simple SSL. 90% of websites that rank at the top have SSL installed. It's pretty much become a prerequisite if you want to rank well, so use the SSL. Now, it doesn't have to be through this plugin.

Maybe your host provides it, maybe your domain provider provides it, whatever it may be you want a secure site, and what you'll find is some browsers even notify users, saying "Hey, this site isn't secure," and that'll cause people to bounce back, get away from your site, and over time that could decrease your rankings. You want to make sure you have SSL, it's that important. So, use these eight plugins, you'll find that your rankings will start going up over time, especially if you haven't used any of them, but when you start combining all of them it does help quite a bit.

in this video i'm going to show you how you can make money with wordpress plugins this is a very newbie friendly method it works anywhere and there's not a whole lot of work required if you stay until the end you will learn how and where to get plugins for pennies plus also where.

By just installing wordpress plugins so if you don't know what wordpress is is pretty much a cms or a content management system that will allow anyone to manage and create content and publish that on their website without using a single line of code you can also use it to create new designs for your website we just drag and drop and no code whatsoever now the thing is that a lot of plugins can be expensive when people buy just one single license.

And wordpress in order to achieve certain goals that you might have for your site absolutely needs plugins there's no way around it and also themes are needed in order to use it because the default teams don't have a lot of options so for people starting out with their first website as you can see it can be very expensive so early access for for example this which is tv it would cost you 89 per year and 249 for lifetime access so what a lot of people do instead is that they go on fiverr which is this freelancing platform.

And they look for plug-in installs and they pay around five bucks and they get all of these licenses that still work and get updates as you can see there's a ton of gigs i just searched for an example which is astra this is a theme for wordpress and then you can see a bunch of gigs right here which usually are around five dollars so as you can see right here on this example this includes three plugins for five dollars there's others that are just two or one and what a lot of these guys do is that they actually go to the original websites they go into the pricing and then they purchase something which is similar.

To a agency license or they purchase an option that has this stick which is the unlimited website usage and this means that they can install it on as many websites as they want but as you can see they cost 169 dollars per year which again is still expensive however they can make money back but it would require them a lot of sales to do so and as you can see with this example as well it also has unlimited website usage but it would be for the lifetime license which is 249 dollars one time and this can get expensive if you are selling multiple licenses for different wordpress plugins a pretty cool site that you can use to not only make more profits but also get pretty cheap licenses.

Which actually still have lifetime updates meaning that they are legit is this site which is called festinger vault you can go here and on what this website pretty much does is that they will give you a copy of any plugin or theme that you might think of that's available out there for wordpress so you can go here and then they have a bunch of those you can search for them.

For example astra which was the example then you have here the aster wordpress theme and in this site for each one of those to install one of those plugins or themes you'll need to spend one credit now on here as you can see they have a membership subscription where you can buy 15 bucks per month and then you can get access to all of the database plus you'll get then download credits per day so this means that in one day you can download up to 10 plugins or themes and each one of the downloadable files that you get access to will cost you one credit so this means that when you spend one credit you can install one of those extras and the credits would be valid one for each site where you install that said plugin or theme.

Now as you can see you could spend 15 dollars per month and then if in each day you sell 10 plugins you can sell those for around the five dollar mark or you can sell for example two or three just like in this example and charge five dollars.

To pretty much get your investment back all you needed to do is to actually sell three gigs of those so you sell three gigs of this for five dollars and then you get your money back which actually covers the subscription and from then on everything is profit so as you can see right here with fasting revolt it is very inexpensive and then they have also other options to get credits but the the memberships are actually much more.

Worth it since you buy less and you get download credits every single day but they have a limitation so here is a license for three domains then you here have a license for 10 domains and you also have a license for 99 domains so another thing that you can go for is instead click on here and buy as you go and then you can go here and for example spend 39 one-time payment there's no memberships and then you get 12 download credits and again you can use 12 download credits for each one of the themes or plugins.

And as you can see you have lifetime updates for credit so this is not something that you buy once and then you can't upload you can actually update except that in this version you don't have white label which means that you will need to install an extra plugin which is from testing our vault but you can still use this and install on your client sites and then charge for it it just means that when your clients go into their wordpress dashboard.

They will know that this is from testing your vault however the licenses are still working so if you want to purchase pretty cheap themes and plug-in licenses to then sell on fiverr or even to other clients so you can also do this for example you can provide design services or you can build websites using wordpress which is pretty simple to achieve and then you can sell the licenses as an extra as well or you can provide those to local businesses too but yeah if.

You want to get some cheap licenses all you need to do is go into the link down in the description click on that and then you can check out this website which is testing your vault and you can get pretty cheap licenses for plugins which have lifetime updates and so then you can go ahead and sell those on fiverr another service that you can also provide is migrating sites from for example traditional page builders such as elementor to gutenberg.

Which is a new let's say page builder or something that people are using more because the sites load faster you can also do the migration and this implies that your clients will need new and different plugins and you can charge for those as well so you have so yeah you have a bunch of gigs right here that you can pretty much sell for more if you add value so you can start at five dollars and install the plugins and then provide the other services and this is also a very good opportunity because people are migrating due to new google search updates that actually give better rankings for sites that load faster now with that being said let's jump into the wordpress dashboard.

And you can see that this is pretty simple to do so you ask your client for access to their wordpress site then you can access that site by typing in the domain and then followed by wp admin as you can see on the url bar up right here on chrome and then you access that page with the credentials that they provide you head into this section which is plugins you click on add new you then go to upload plugin and then you can drag and drop the zip file to here or just click on choose file and then upload it install and activate and that's it you have already provided the basic service and of course on fiverr the advantage is that you can charge first and then do it and of course there's also some instructions provided with festinger vault if you want to sign up with them following.

The same logic you can install the themes by going into appearance themes then clicking on add new and then you can click on upload theme choose the file upload it and that's done and that's pretty much it for this video thanks for watching and i'll hopefully see on the next one bye you.
